BT will cut 4,000 jobs and curb dividend increases in an attempt by chief executive Gavin Patterson to steady the telecoms giant after a series of damaging stumbles.
Middle management and back-office functions in its struggling Global Services IT division will be targeted in a radical restructure expected to cost £300m over two years.
