County cricketers have asked for a halt on overseas recruits for 2021 in exchange for 10 per cent winter pay-cuts via the Government's imminent Job Support Scheme.
A proposal put together by the Professional Cricketers' Association, and voted through by their members, suggested that contracts of players switching from Kolpak status or who had deferred for 12 months should be honoured, but the 18 first-class counties should not pursue new signings.
