Dems Olson, Valenzuela facing runoff
Beth Van Duyne, the former mayor of Irving, had a commanding early lead in Texas’ 24th Congressional District Republican primary on Tuesday and looked to be headed toward the November ballot without a runoff.
Only one other Republican, David Fegan, broke double digits as of 10 p.m.
In the Democratic primary, a May runoff appeared imminent between retired Air Force Col. Kim Olson and former Carrollton-Farmers Branch school board member Candace Valenzuela, according to returns.
