Despite momentum, hydrogen to stay in 'pilot phase' for next 5 years S&P

More than a dozen major European utilities are likely to invest less than 1 billion in hydrogen over the next three years as development stays highly dependent on policies and public support, S&P Global Ratings said.

Fifteen of Europe's largest utilities will spend less than 1 billion per year on clean hydrogen over the next three years, compared with estimated annual investments of about 65 billion planned between those companies, according to analysts at S&P Global Ratings.
