For MLK speech contest, girl looks to the present; CPS student draws lessons from current events

As Chicago Public Schools students enjoyed their winter break, Payton Sawyer, 9, spent her off days practicing her 3-minute, 20-second Martin Luther King Jr. speech. She wanted to be able to perform it from memory.
