Leader appointed to state Senate; Lake Democrats fill seat formerly held by Terry Link
Lake County Democratic Party leaders on Sunday appointed Adriane Johnson to the Illinois Senate seat formerly held by Terry Link, who resigned last month shortly before pleading guilty to federal income tax evasion. Johnson, of Buffalo Grove, is a local park district leader and chamber of commerce president. She was sworn in Sunday.
In a statement, Johnson said racial equality, protecting the environment, ethics reform and supporting small businesses are among her top priorities.
