Columbus arts leaders say their ticket-tax proposal is the best solution to fill a gap in public funding for the arts, even as other cities use different models and a coalition of event organizers stands against it.

The Greater Columbus Arts Council will propose a 7 percent tax on admission to most sports and cultural events in Columbus when the organization delivers its recommendations to Columbus City Council this week.
