PAIR OF MADISON COMPANIES TO STUDY HEART TREATMENT

UW-Madison researchers involved in two Madison-based stem cell companies have received a federal grant to test experimental therapies for heart failure in pigs.

The $765,000 grant, announced last week, will allow Dr. Amish Raval, cofounder of Cellular Logistics, and Dr. Tim Kamp, a founder of and consultant to Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics Inc., or FCDI, to test two related treatments on four groups of pigs after heart attacks.
