AUSTIN - Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a brief on Wednesday in federal court supporting a lawsuit challenging the racial and sex-based quotas for membership on the State Bar of Texas board.

Austin-based attorney Greg Gegenheimer filed a lawsuit this month in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas against the president of the State Bar of Texas over four positions on the board of directors that are designated for minorities, according to Paxton's brief.
