SANDHURST has seen a surge in entry applications this year, a rise the former head of the Army says is because of a downturn in the graduate jobs market.
The Daily Telegraph understands applications for officer entry at the Royal Military Academy rose by 62 per cent compared with last year, while overall applications for entry as soldiers and officers were up by 32 per cent.
