THE head of a dog-walking start-up backed by billionaire Masayoshi Son has quit in a fresh blow to the Japanese investor as he fights back after a string of bad bets.

Hilary Schneider of Wag, an app that allows users to book dog walkers on demand, is leaving to join photo printer Shutterfly.

Wag is backed by Mr Son's Vision Fund, part of his SoftBank empire. Ms Schneider's departure will hit hopes of a quick sale as SoftBank battles to recover cash.
