Struggling Debenhams eyes ex-Kingfisher chief as new chairman
TROUBLED department store chain Debenhams is lining up the former boss of B&Q owner Kingfisher to become its next chairman.
Sir Ian Cheshire, who stepped down as chief executive of Kingfisher in December 2014, is understood to be in discussions with Debenhams about taking over from its current chairman, Nigel Northridge.
The ex-Kingfisher chief has not yet agreed to succeed Mr Northridge and talks with Debenhams could end without his appointment.
