Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp recently appointed Kelly Loeffler to the United States Senate to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson. She became the second woman from Georgia -- and the first in nearly a century -- to serve in that august body. Her appointment comes at an interesting time in our history as it coincides with the centennial of the adoption of the 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote.
