Some of the funds and SMAs employ a multi-strategy approach, utilizing a wide range of strategies across a range of geographies, while others focus on one or just a few strategies. It may hold both long and short positions in a broad range of securities, derivatives, and other assets. In executing their investment strategies, the funds and SMAs may enter into joint venture or co-investment arrangements, participate in pooled investment vehicles, invest with affiliated or unaffiliated advisors or managers, or make direct investments in operating entities. Hudson Bay Capital Management LP is a manager of alternative investment opportunities in the global markets targeting traditional and non-traditional sources of alpha by employing a diverse set of catalyst-driven absolute return strategies that are intended to be uncorrelated to each other and to the major indices. Our eight portfolio teams invest across the corporate capital structure and often trade around or in conjunction with an event or catalyst in an effort to exploit market inefficiencies. Aristeia focuses on investing their clients’ assets in the credit markets and other opportunities that they think exhibit attractive return profiles. In managing the firm’s clients’ accounts, they use a combination of fundamental research and analysis of (1) issuers; (2)complex financial instruments (such as convertible securities, credit default swaps, options and other derivatives); (3) the potential outcomes of corporate events; (4) the various processes for effecting corporate transactions and restructuring liabilities; and (5) potential outcomes of litigation affecting specific investment.
