The Energy Project energizes people and transforms companies, offering a detailed blueprint for fueling a fully engaged workforce. Drawing on the multidisciplinary science of high performance, we do this at three levels: We train people to perform sustainably at the highest levels by more skillfully managing their energy across four dimensions: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual to develop actionable strategies that help them to become more energized, focused and productive. We teach leaders to become Chief Energy Officers, who mobilize, inspire, focus, direct and regularly recharge the energy of those they lead. We partner with companies to help them better meet the core needs of their employees, so they’re freed, fueled and inspired to bring the best of themselves to work every day. Demand is exceeding our capacity. Time is the resource we’ve traditionally relied on to get more done. The problem with time is that it’s finite, and most of us no longer have additional hours left to invest at work. Energy, by contrast, can be expanded and regularly renewed. Drawing on the multidisciplinary science of high performance, The Energy Project has developed a set of simple principles and highly actionable practices for more effectively managing energy to drive higher levels of engagement, productivity, and innovation. Our clients range from companies such as Google, Coca Cola, Target, Sony, Ernst & Young, and Pfizer to organizations such as the Los Angeles Police Department, the Cleveland Clinic, Kipp Schools and many others.

PSCM is a concentrated, research-intensive, fundamental value investor in the public markets. Their funds' investment objectives are to preserve capital and to seek maximum, long-term capital appreciation commensurate with reasonable risk. The firm defines risk as the probability of a permanent loss of capital, rather than price volatility. In their value approach to investing, PSCM seeks to identify and invest in long and short investment opportunities they believe exhibit significant valuation discrepancies between current trading prices and intrinsic business (or net asset) value, often with a catalyst for value recognition. They focus on deeply undervalued or overvalued securities due to their belief that a well-priced purchase or short sale is often the most important determinant of the success of an investment. In addition, PSCM believes that the acquisition of a portfolio of investments, when acquired at a large discount to intrinsic value, provides a margin of safety that can mitigate the likelihood of an overall permanent loss of each fund's capital.

Ares Capital Management (ACM) focuses on investments in leading middle-market companies that are undercapitalized and have a catalyst that may lead to growth. The firm seeks investments in North American-based companies with: with: (1) experienced management teams (2) demonstrated competitive advantages (3) entrenched positions and customers (4) stable cash flows and attractive growth profiles (5) high returns on invested capital and (6) identifiable growth prospects that can generate significant free cash flow. ACM invests primarily in the basic and growth manufacturing, business services, consumer products, healthcare products/services and information technology services sectors. To a lesser extent, they may also invest in the restaurant, retail, oil and gas and technology sectors.ACM targets companies with EBITDA of $5 million to $100 million. Investments range from $10 million to $100 million. The firm invests capital in a variety of structures including common equity, preferred equity, convertible equity/debt and debt. They make both majority and shared-control investments with a focus on growth, rescue and deleveraging situations. ACM usually serves as the lead investor in the transactions in which they participate.Through the Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund, ACM provides junior capital to middle-market companies for growth, strategic initiatives and the resolution of capital structure issues. The firm participates in refinancings, recapitalizations, balance sheet restructurings, growth capital financings, acquisitions, MBOs, going-private transactions and post-reorganization equity investments. Transactions may be structured as common stock, convertible stock/redeemable preferred stock, subordinated debt with warrants and other structured securities. ACM invests in both control and non-control situations.

BFM utilizes fixed-income strategies that are actively managed, model or index based. Actively managed fixed-income mandates generally employ an active investment style that emphasizes rotation among different types of debt on a relative value basis, specific security selection, quantitative analysis of each security and the portfolio as a whole and intensive credit analysis and review. They utilize a risk-controlled, systematic process for portfolio construction and alpha generation. Alpha sources may include security selection, duration and yield curve positioning, industry rotation, asset allocation, and currency positioning. BFM's equity platform includes a broad range of products that vary according to investment style (active, scientific and passive management), market-cap (small-, mid-, small/mid-, large- and all-cap), and geography (global, international and regional). The product range may also include sector funds, long-only and long-short portfolios, as well as products that combine different strategies to create balanced and asset allocation portfolios. For cash management portfolios, the investment process emphasizes safety and liquidity over yield. Their alternative mandates focus on sourcing and managing high-alpha investments with lower correlation to public markets and developing a holistic approach to address client needs in alternatives investing.
