Company Description

In 2006, Helen and Bob Appel established the Appel Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute with a major philanthropic gift. Research and therapeutic development carried out by the Appel Institute is not confined to particular disciplines, nor is it constrained by any particular dogma. The mission of the Appel Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute (AADRI) is to discover the causes of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, develop new therapies and preventive strategies based on this increased understanding of the underlying etiology, foster better communication and joint research efforts among scientists from different disciplines and institutions and increase public awareness of the coming epidemic of age-related dementias and mobilize the public and private sectors to help fight it.
