Alfred (Al) E. Baldwin, Newport Beach, CA
Al Baldwin and his family have been in the real estate development and home building business for three generations, building quality communities and more than 20,000 homes. Baldwin & Sons, Sunrise Construction, Heritage Building & Development and Pacific Coast Communities are companies owned and operated by Baldwin and his three sons and his son-in-law. Their most recent community is the Otay Ranch in San Diego, which will contain 10,000 homes upon its completion. Their communities have proven to be not only highly successful with the public, but also extremely well received within the professional community, receiving numerous awards and recognition.
Baldwin is actively involved in the community, and has served on numerous boards and charitable foundations, including chairman and board member of Futures for Children, a national children's charity; treasurer and board member for the Orange County Performing Arts Center; president of City of Hope Construction Industry Alliance; and past member on the Board of Trustees for the Laguna Beach Art Museum. He is actively involved in the Catholic Church and is a member of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta.
Baldwin and his wife, Deeann, of 47 years have four children, thirteen grandchildren and currently reside in Orange County. Baldwin has received numerous personal recognitions and commendations such as the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Los Angeles County Boy Scouts of America; the Spirit of Life Award from the Construction Industry Alliance City of Hope; the Diocese of Orange Mardi Gras Honorees from Catholic Charities; the National Human Relations Award from the American Jewish Committee; and the Distinguished Community Service Award from the Anti-Defamation League.
