CEI-PEA came about when two respected public education organizations merged in 2000 to build a broad capacity for public school reform. CEI was first established in 1989 as a component of the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research and aimed to transform public education by shifting accountability from bureaucracies to schools as a means of creating public school choice for communities. PEA was founded in 1895 and for over 100 years worked for systemic and sustainable reform of the city’s public school system.

The Tisch School of the Arts (known more commonly as Tisch or TSOA) is one of the 15 schools that make up New York University. Founded in August 17, 1965, Tisch is a centers of study in the performing and media arts. Tisch is a training ground for artists, scholars of the arts, and creative entrepreneurs. The school merges the technical training of a professional school with the academic resources of a major research university to immerse students in their intended artistic disciplines. Tisch School of the Arts was founded to provide rigorous conservatory training in theatre and film in the context of a research university. The school established itself as one of the leading artistic centers in the country, creating additional departments such as dance, theatre design, and cinema studies within a few years.[1] In 1982, a gift from Laurence A. and Preston Robert Tisch made possible the acquisition and renovation of 721 Broadway, where most of the school’s programs are housed. In recognition of the generosity of the Tisch family, the school was renamed Tisch School of the Arts.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), formerly known as CaP CURE, is the world’s largest philanthropic source of support for prostate cancer research. PCF was founded in 1993 in order to discover better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. As of 2012, PCF has raised more than $500 million for research and funded more than 1,600 research projects at nearly 200 institutions in 17 countries. In the past 2 years, 5 new drugs that extend the lives of men with metastatic prostate cancer have been approved by the FDA. PCF initiated and supported academic treatment science that fast-forwarded every one of these approvals.
