The College was formed in 1989 and has over 800 Fellows that are selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations received from the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit. The Regents select those who meet the following standards: (i) the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards; (ii) the highest level of character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership which demonstrates the likelihood that they will continue to contribute to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency scholarship, continuing education, and contributions to the improvement of the bankruptcy and insolvency processes; (iii) a commitment to fostering and furthering the objectives of the College; (iv) sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing and distinguished published writings on bankruptcy practice or insolvency practice, procedure, philosophy, improvements and reforms which demonstrates a consistent contribution to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency literature, education, practice and the overall improvement of the process.The mission of the College is to honor and recognize distinguished bankruptcy professionals who are qualified for membership in an effort to set standards of achievement for others in the insolvency community, and to fund and assist projects that enhance the highest quality of bankruptcy practice, including undergraduate and graduate programs related to bankruptcy and insolvency. Historically, the prestigious American College of Bankruptcy Induction Ceremony, a black tie event, has been held in early spring at the United States Supreme Court Great Hall, followed by a reception. Well known individuals who have addressed the Induction Ceremony include Supreme Court Justices, members of Congress, Department of Justice officials, White House staff members, academicians and appellate judges.

International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) was founded in December 1993 by Selinda Melnik, Laureen Ryan and Martha Fetner, an attorney, investment banker and commercial banker, respectively. It is a not-for-profit professional association incorporated in May 1994 under the laws of the State of New York, USA. IWIRC held its first meeting in London, England in June 1994. Its first Network, Central Ohio, was chartered in June 1995. Now in our 20th year, IWIRC has been connecting women worldwide. Through a global membership of more than 1,200 attorneys, bankers, corporate-turnaround professionals, financial advisors and other restructuring practitioners, members develop a powerful network of contacts, resources, mentors and friends. Since 1978, Utah Opera has cultivated and entertained a growing audience of more than 150,000 annually around the intermountain area. Utah Opera strives to live up to its name in serving all the people of Utah, regardless of age and geographic location. Each year, the Opera performs for more than 80,000 students in Salt Lake City's Capitol Theatre, and in schools throughout Utah. This amounts to approximately 10% of all school opera audiences nationwide, according to annual surveys by OPERA America. Not only are these young people developing a greater appreciation of opera, but they will also ensure Utah Opera's audience base in the years to come. Young people and adults alike enjoy opera more when they understand the lyrics. In 1985, Utah Opera became the youngest company in the nation to implement the innovative technique of Supertitles - the English translation of the sung language projected above the stage.
