Chris Conaway

As a Principal, Chris Conaway brings over 36 years of experience in leadership and a collaborative approach to working with clients and consultants. His upbringing in rural, central Ohio has led to a special interest in finding nature and small communities within larger urban areas, and a need to find the balance between two opposing viewpoints held simultaneously, such as built form versus nature, small scale versus large, local versus regional, less versus more, and form versus function. Chris’s early career serving on environmental task forces that led to the creation of the LEED program and the USGBC has turned his focus lately to affecting policy on a much broader scale, to dramatically accelerate the Los Angeles area’s conversion to renewable energy. Chris has worked on a variety of institutional, and public and private sector projects, including buildings for clients such as the California Science Center, Judicial Council of California, The University of Arizona, the University of Southern California, and the University of California at Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara. Chris earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University.
