Biography

Craig de Recat is a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on litigation/trials involving complex litigation, and he has a wide range of experience handling commercial, energy, environmental, antitrust, insurance, intellectual property, patent/trademark, and related business matter disputes for national and international clients. Craig is an experienced trial attorney often called on to handle trials for high-, high-risk or “bet the company” cases. He has also argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts, including the California Supreme Court.

In addition to his trial practice, Craig regularly counsels clients in connection with performing regulatory compliance, due diligence and, where necessary, negotiations with regulatory and enforcement agencies involving attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Justice and others. Several of his clients are Fortune 100 companies, including petroleum companies, insurance companies, manufacturers, chemical companies, real estate developers and financial institutions. Craig served as Special Litigation Counsel to the Democratic National Convention Committee 2000. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who and Southern California’s Super Lawyers repeatedly since 2005.

Craig currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Western Justice Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating youth on non-violent dispute resolution while building a more civil, peaceful society where differences are valued.

Craig is also a frequent speaker on trial/litigation issues and has authored several articles.
