Dr. Weintraub is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of General Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Dr. Weintraub received an A.B. in History from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH and her M.D. from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland and a post-doctoral fellowship in General Pediatrics at Stanford University.

Dr. Weintraub’s research includes community-based evaluation of after school team sports as a weight control intervention for overweight children. Dr. Weintraub has extensive experience both playing and coaching soccer and developing after school programs. Throughout her four years playing Varsity Soccer for Dartmouth College, including two-time All-Ivy League Team honors, Dr. Weintraub coached local youths in league play and summer camps. After college, Dr. Weintraub spent six months in a primary school in South Africa where she created and delivered a curriculum for the co-ed physical education and after school sports programs, including three soccer teams, one of which was for school-age girls whom had not previously played soccer. Subsequently, Dr. Weintraub coached the Junior Varsity Soccer Team at Dartmouth College. During medical school and residency, Dr. Weintraub developed after school tutoring and photography programs for homeless youths and children with chronic illnesses. She most recently has coached youth soccer, basketball and lacrosse for her daughter and son’s teams.

In addition to her experience with youth sports, Dr. Weintraub co-founded and co-directs the Peninsula Family Advocacy Program, a medical-legal partnership between Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County and Stanford Children’s Health. She also serves on the Boards of the Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative and Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula and on the National Advisory Board for Positive Coaching Alliance.
