Daniel Gerger

Dan GergerDaniel Gerger is the executive director of the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies. The center offers noncredit, for-credit, and online programs, and serves more than 10,000 students each year, ranging from adults returning to learn new skills, to high school and middle school students, to senior learners and international students in English as a Second Language programs.

For over 20 years, Gerger has worked to bring about meaningful change in the lives of nontraditional students, writing extensively on issues that affect them and helping to develop programs and policies that prepare adults with the skills and education they need to succeed in their careers. Gerger is the cofounder and president of Adult Education Advocates, an organization devoted to helping adults return to college and complete their degrees. He has also developed and managed adult student programs at Saint Peter’s University, Manhattanville College, and Bloomfield College.

Gerger is especially interested in creating innovative programs to prepare nontraditional students for work in the future. The center is developing courses in technologies such as UX Design, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, and drone applications.

Gerger holds an MPA from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service and a BA in Political Science from Montclair State University. His professional affiliations include the Continuing Education Association of New York, the Pennsylvania Association for Adult and Continuing Education, the New Jersey Association of Lifelong Learning, and the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling.
