Harvard Law School offers an energetic and creative learning environment, a diverse and dedicated faculty—whose expertise spans a broad array of legal subjects—and a student body that comes from every state in the U.S. and more than 70 countries around the world. Approximately 1,900 students attend HLS each year: 1,680 J.D. students, 160 LL.M. students, and 50 S.J.D. candidates. The faculty includes more than 100 full-time professors and more than 150 visiting professors, lecturers on law, and instructors. The curriculum features more than 260 courses and seminars that cover a broad range of traditional and emerging legal fields. A Harvard Law education prepares students for success in law practice, business, public service, teaching, and more. Most HLS students are pursuing a J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree, while many others are earning an LL.M. (Master of Laws) or the S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science). Harvard Law School also offers many joint degree programs, coordinated programs, and concurrent degree opportunities with other schools within Harvard University. The Law School community is also home to numerous research programs and engaging publications, including books, scholarly periodicals, newsletters, and a weekly student newspaper.

Amalgamated Bank offers active and passive, domestic and international equity and fixed-income strategies. In general, the bank tends to invest in the stocks of companies in the commercial services, consumer services and electronic technology sectors. They invest primarily in the stocks of small- and mid-cap companies in Europe. Amalgamated Bank often engages in shareholder activism.Amalgamated Bank's LongView family of equity index strategies seeks to provide investment results that approximate the performance of the targeted S&P Composite Index. The strategies invest in all the stocks that are contained in the targeted S&P Index in approximately the same proportions as they are represented in that Index. In general, Amalgamated will only rebalance the equity index strategies due to changes in the composition of the applicable index and the timing and size of admissions and withdrawals.Their passive equity strategies may also employ Standard & Poor's Depository Receipts (SPDRs) or similar ETFs, stock index futures contracts, options on stock index future contracts and options on securities indices only in anticipation of taking a market position when available cash balances do not permit an economically effective trade in the cash market.Amalgamated Bank's active domestic investment strategies seek to provide investment results that exceed returns of the corresponding benchmark by 100 to 150 basis points over a market cycle. This strategy contemplates that the Bank will invest in some, but not necessarily all, of the common stocks included in the S&P 500 Index. The goal is to maintain overall investment characteristics similar to the benchmark index, but not to fully replicate the index. They employ quantitative analysis of portfolio behavior and other methods of statistical analysis.Amalgamated Bank currently offers investors two international equity strategies. Their benchmark is the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) EAFE Index. The bank invests in a broad universe of non-US companies.Amalgamated Bank's domestic fixed-income strategy employs a top-down approach that focuses on duration and maturity management. The approach is supplemented by yield curve analysis, sector allocation and security selection. Amalgamated Bank's fixed-income strategies follow a stratified sampling approach with emphasis on credit research. The bank applies disciplined risk management to its fixed-income strategies that provides market rates of return with low volatility. They do not attempt to anticipate interest rates.
