Biography

Ms. Doyle’s practice focuses on tax planning for multinational companies with an emphasis on private and public company mergers and acquisitions. She has advised domestic and international companies on such matters as structuring taxable and tax-free stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, tax-free reorganizations and spin-offs, securities offerings, limited liability company agreements and partnership tax. Ms. Doyle also has significant experience with tax audits and litigation, including refund claims and franchise tax disputes.

Ms. Doyle serves as the chair of the planning committee for the University of Chicago Tax Conference and is a frequent speaker on a variety of tax topics, including the following recent presentations:

Illinois Tool Works in the sale of its Industrial Packaging Group, a multinational manufacturer of protective packaging, tools and equipment, to Carlyle Partners
Joh. A. Benckiser SE in its acquisition of D.E Master Blenders 1753 B.V., a Netherlands based coffee and tea company, represented BDT Capital Partners as financial advisor to Joh. A. Benckiser
Koch Industries in its acquisition of Molex Incorporated, a multinational designer and manufacturer of electronic components
The Pritzker Organization in its acquisition of all of the outstanding common stock of TMS International Corporation, a multinational provider of outsourced industrial services to steel mills
A.O. Smith Corporation in the sale of the Electrical Products Company, a multinational manufacturer and seller of motors for hermetic, pump, distribution, HVAC and general industrial applications
Loews Hotels, Inc. in various acquisitions of hotel properties
Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. in its merger of equals with Grupo FerroAtlantica to create a leading international silicon and specialty metals producer
Delphi Automotive in the sale of its thermal systems business, an automotive parts manufacturer, to MAHLE
INVISTA S.à r.l. in the sale of its multinational PET polymer and resins manufacturing facilities
Recruit Co., Ltd., a Japanese corporation, in its acquisition of Staffmark Holdings, Inc., a staffing company
Triton Holdings Limited in the sale of 80% of the equity, in Triton Container International Limited, a Bermuda intermodal marine container leasing company
