Biography

Dolores Bradle​y Brennan participated in the Maximizing Access to Research Careers and Minority Biomedical Research Support programs at Tennessee State University, where she earned a dual bachelor's degree in psychology and English in 1985. She went on to earn a Sc.M. degree in 1989 and a Ph.D. in 1992, both in experimental psychology at Brown University. She completed her postdoctoral work at the Yerkes Research Center of Emory University. She is now interim vice provost, director of undergraduate research and a professor of psychology at Spelman College, where she directs the college’s Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement program.

Founded in 1881 as the Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, it became Spelman College in 1924 and have since held the distinction of being America's oldest historically Black college for women. Now a global leader in the education of women of African descent, Spelman College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and they are proud members of the Atlanta University Center Consortium.
