Biography

Donald Arnold
Chairman

Donald Arnold has proudly served as Tribal Chairperson for the Scott’s Valley Band of Pomo Indians since 2000, and as a member of the Tribal Council since 1996.

As Chairperson, Mr. Arnold has moved to put land in trust for the Tribe, testified before Congress in November 2005 and signed a Municipal Services Agreement with the City of Richmond — all to help improve the quality of life and provide a better future for the members of the Scott’s Valley Tribe.

Prior to his chairmanship, Mr. Arnold worked for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) for 28 years — as a mechanic, train operator, and educational development specialist. Before that, he worked as a construction foreman for the California Builders Hardware Company in San Francisco, where he and his crew helped build the San Francisco Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Arnold was born in Ukiah, California in 1949 and graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco in 1967. He is a U.S. Army veteran (1968 – 1970), having served our country during the Vietnam War.
