As a major source for public university education in North Dakota, North Dakota State University prides itself on diversity, both in its academics and its student body. Undergraduate and graduate programs span a range of agricultural fields such as Agricultural Economics, Crop and Weed Sciences and Equine Studies as well as liberal and fine arts programs, natural sciences and math, a number of engineering options and a variety of pharmacy, nursing, education and business degrees. NDSU is also home to a highly diverse student body, with students coming from over 40 states and approximately 80 countries. Student life includes multicultural programs and organizations, athletics, Greek life, student government, a student-run newspaper and radio, and a number of extracurricular activities. Admissions requirements vary with each program, with most admissions deadlines as late as a month before the beginning of each semester. Early entry admission allows high school seniors to being their college study while completing their high school degree. Tuition and room and board fees vary based on different criteria, including one’s state of residency. Alumni and family members of employees also receive tuition discounts. Financial aid options include scholarships granted through the multicultural programs department, subject-based scholarships and a variety of other sources, which are available to those who qualify.
