Biography

Eric Hatzimemos, a Senior Director Greenberg Traurig advises the Executive Chairman with respect to the firm's strategic security practice. Eric is also managing director and a founding member of Giuliani Partners LLC, a global management consulting firm founded by former New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani in 2002. From 2007-2008, Eric served as volunteer Director of Energy Policy for the Giuliani for President Campaign. During that time, he met with a large advisory group of thought leaders in the energy sector, including business executives, academic experts, policy and media analysts, and government personnel. This process culminated in the drafting of a comprehensive national energy policy for the United States. Eric has traveled extensively, both with Mayor Giuliani and representing Giuliani Partners, visiting heads of state, businesses, and public and private sector leaders in more than 20 nations on six continents.

Prior to entering the private sector, Eric served as Assistant Counsel to Mayor Giuliani, including serving as the Mayor’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the New York City Police and Fire Pension Funds and the Employees Deferred Compensation Fund, which combined held more than $50 billion in assets at the time. In addition, Eric was involved in making general policy for all the New York City pension funds, which combined held more than $100 billion in assets. As Assistant Counsel to the Mayor, he was also called upon to represent the City in critical negotiations with corporate leaders. From 1998 to 2000, Eric served as Assistant Criminal Justice Coordinator in the Mayor’s Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator. Prior to that, he was an associate at a Manhattan law firm. From 1992 to 1996, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the borough of Brooklyn, New York.

Eric received his law degree from New York Law School in 1992, and he currently sits on the advisory board of New York Law School’s Center for New York City Law. He also completed executive-level coursework in private equity, pension management, and investment management at the Wharton School of Business and Harvard Business School.

Founded in 1831, New York University is now one of the largest private universities in the United States. Of the more than 3,000 colleges and universities in America, New York University is one of only 60 member institutions of the distinguished Association of American Universities.
