Biography

Folkert Idsinga heads the tax practice in Baker & McKenzie's Amsterdam office and in the joint European Office. As of 1 July 2015, he is managing partner of the Amsterdam office. He is also a senior member and course leader at the Dutch Tax Bar. Folkert is recognized in Chambers Global's 2014 and 2015 editions for his practical advice, ability to coordinate cross-border matters, and technical skills that enable him to design and implement solutions for clients in the financial services industry. Folkert teaches at VU University Amsterdam and the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers.

Practice Focus

Folkert's practice focuses on European and Dutch VAT advice for multinational companies. He has close to 20 years of experience in advising clients on indirect tax aspects of supply chain restructuring, tax management consulting, financial services and M&A. Folkert acts for clients in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, media, e-commerce, and financial services and products.
