RIM's client assets are primarily invested using a multi-style, multi-manager diversification approach. They offer investment advice regarding equities and fixed-income securities, as well as certain derivative instruments. They may also recommend that managed account clients invest in affiliated funds, certain other pooled investment vehicles, other open- or closed-end mutual funds, separate account programs, individual securities or other assets. RIM researches investment advisors for different asset classes and investment styles. They invest in pooled investment vehicles and/or manages funds to either fully or closely replicate indexes (some of which may be affiliated). In certain cases, they may create custom baskets of index and benchmark securities based on multiple risk factors specific to client portfolios utilizing automated model databases. RIM directly manages funds that are managed to money market guidelines and other fixed-income accounts. The portfolio manager focuses on diversification of risks including credit risk, interest rate risk and redemption risk. The firm's investment services involve managing third party managers who are responsible for discrete portions of the portfolios of RIM's clients.

Frank Russell Co. (FRC) invests in the public equity, fixed-income and real estate markets on a global basis. They invest in the growth and value stocks of large-, mid-and small-cap companies. FRC does not generally research or recommend specific portfolio securities. Rather, they research investment managers for different classes of assets and investment styles. The firm generates research and models for managing large pools of assets. In addition, they review, evaluate and utilize similar research developed by other professional organizations and by the academic community. Much of their research focuses on the process, organization, portfolio structure and performance of investment managers, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate and select investment managers.FRC exercises investment discretion over the portion of each of their funds' assets not allocated to the investment managers. They select the individual securities for that portion of each fund's assets and for each fund's cash reserves. Cash reserves are invested in short-term investments, including appropriate money market funds. In addition to investing in such short-term investments, FRC uses a hedging strategy for the fund's cash reserves to ensure a fund is fully invested by exposing these reserves to the appropriate markets by purchasing equity or fixed-income securities and/or derivatives.

Threshold Group works with each client to develop an appropriate allocation of assets among asset classes including, but not necessarily limited to equities, fixed income securities, commodities, currencies and real estate. The firm provides advice concerning the structure of a client's portfolio but not with respect to underlying securities. Threshold Group recommends strategies that come in different investment structures including separately managed accounts, private investment funds, mutual funds and ETFs to make portfolio investments in based on each client's specified investment objectives. The firm maintains a strategic relationship with Portfolio Advisors LLC through which they offer clients access to private equity funds sponsored by Portfolio Advisors LLC. In addition, Threshold Group may recommend one or more separate account overlay programs to access investment managers they recommend to clients. In these overlay programs, the client enters into a discretionary investment advisory agreement with Threshold Group. Threshold Group has entered into investment management agreements with overlay managers to implement the underlying strategies.
