Odyssey Investment Partners (OIP) seeks to identify and invest in established middle-market companies in industries or markets that are poised to benefit from economic changes, secular trends, regulatory changes or market dislocations. The firm typically makes majority, control-oriented investments in established middle-market companies in the following industries: (1) industrial manufacturing (2) business and insurance services (3) aerospace/defense products and services (4) route-based businesses (5) supply chain management (6) energy products and services and (7) rental businesses. The firm seeks to invest in companies with existing management teams. Their objective is to transform middle-market businesses into larger companies with industry-leading market shares and operating margins. OIP makes investments in the form of leveraged acquisitions, growth financings and recapitalizations.

Saugatuck Capital specializes in middle-market acquisitions of and growth equity investments in companies operating in fragmented service and manufacturing industries. They provide capital for LBOs, MBOs, recapitalizations, consolidations and growth financings. Saugatuck does not invest in high technology, real estate or financial companies. They do not invest in start-ups, early-stage companies or turnarounds. The firm does consider preferred equity investments in public companies that meet their investment criteria. Saugatuck is typically the lead investor in their portfolio companies, but they also consider co-investments with other lead investors who have a similar investment approach.Saugatuck looks for companies with strong management teams who are motivated by significant equity incentives. They target companies with revenues of $15 million to $200 million. For add-on acquisitions, they target companies with at least $3 million in revenues. Companies should have the ability to generate stable, growing cash flows and have strong positions in niche markets, proprietary products and services or high engineering and/or service content. There should be an opportunity for profit growth through operating leverage.
