Biography

Mr. Gomez heads a highly qualified team responsible for the strategic management and operation of all the technical aspects of the company. Specifically, he is responsible for the multiple cable systems in support of the organization’s goals and business plans and efficient running of the hallmark video product, REVTV. As such, he guides the company in the development and implementation of all electrical and telecommunications systems. A key achievement was the management and roll-out of digitalization over the entire network ahead of schedule. Critical assets are his intimate Bahamian knowledge and dedicated work ethic.

Mr. Gomez has garnered over 30 years of professional experience in the field of engineering. He joined Cable Bahamas Ltd. in 2001 as Director of Engineering and was subsequently promoted to the position of Vice President of Engineering in 2003. Prior to this, Mr. Gomez has spent almost 20 years in senior positions with the Bahamas Electricity Corporation (B.E.C), where in his final tenure, he played a critical role in designing, specifying and installing a capacitor bank at a power station which facilitated the maintenance of voltage levels at an optimal level during peak periods. He was also responsible for the installation and commissioning of four of the largest power generation units to be installed on the island of Eleuthera. Mr. Gomez has managed the implementation of major projects associated with implementing power and telecom systems throughout The Bahamas.

Mr Gomez holds a master’s degree in business administration (international business) from the University of Miami and a bachelors of science (electrical engineering) from the Florida Institute of Technology.
