Biography

Joe joined the firm in 1987 in Controllers and has worked in several capacities in both the New York and London offices. At the end of 2001, Joe transferred to the Human Capital Management division and became the firm’s global head of experienced hire recruitment where he oversaw a team responsible for the sourcing and hiring of all Goldman Sachs employees throughout all regions of the firm and across all levels and divisions. He rejoined Controllers in 2007, and has recently assumed the role as Chief of Staff.



Joe has been an active member in many external organizations. He is a member of PRIMER and is on their board as the Treasurer. He has been an active member of the Executive Search Information Exchange (ESIX) where he was additionally an Advisor to its Academy. He is also a member of the IACPR and on the Advisory Board for the Executive Grapevine (a European HR association). Additionally, Joe is on the Corporate Advisory Board for ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting) where he currently serves as their past-chairman. He is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and was an Advisory Council Member of the New York Times for Job Market Research. Joe is also a member to the Goldman Sachs Hispanic Network and he earlier had been a steering committee member.
