Biography

Josh Katzin is VP of Acquisitions at Starwood Capital Group. Since its inception in 1991, Starwood has sponsored and managed eleven co-mingled funds, six co-investment funds, four transaction-specific funds and numerous individual real estate partnerships that have raised more than $12 billion of equity. Starwood has completed over 465 transactions representing assets in excess of $33 billion. The firm currently has $20 billion of assets under management and 200 employees operating in ten offices around the world.

Starwood has been investing in distressed debt since it began purchasing individual loans and pools from the RTC. The firm remains one of the most active acquirers of NPLs in the current distress cycle, having purchased loans with UPB in excess of $6 billion since 2008.

Josh is a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Law School.
