The firm looks for companies that automate or outsource business processes, generate productivity, save costs or improve customer service for other businesses. They look for companies with health-related products and services, including medical devices (later-stage only), wellness and nutrition. LFE seeks companies with branded products or services that are targeted to the consumer market. In addition, the firm has a special focus on businesses that are owned or led by women and businesses that target female consumers. They invest primarily in the Upper Midwestern US.LFE Capital invests in established business with revenues of $ million to $75 million and at least $1 million of annual cash flow. They also invest in emerging businesses with at least $5 million of revenue and that are within 12 months of break-even cash flow. The firm targets companies with well-defined markets, compelling purchasing propositions and competitive advantages. Companies should have an attractive economic model, with high margins, multiple sources of growth, scalable structure and large markets.Investments are made up to $10 million. LFE Capital will co-invest in larger transactions with lead investors that have similar investment styles. Investments are structured as preferred stock or subordinated debt with equity features. They take control and minority positions.
