Biography

Julie Johnson , a graduate of the Harvard Business School, is considered one of the pioneers in the field of executive coaching, and has coached hundreds of senior executives in blue chip global organizations. She helps companies achieve bottom line business results by maximizing the performance of key individuals.

Respected as a thought leader in the field of executive leadership, Julie focuses on leadership style, organizational needs and emotional intelligence. Her insights into self-management, coalition building and conflict resolution have guided many leaders around common traps and enabled them to advance to the next level. She is also expert at helping executives navigate and negotiate the political landscape at the C-Suite level.

Julie’s coaching style has been described by clients as motivational, straightforward and empathic. The coaching and feedback she provides is specific, actionable and practical. She emphasizes follow up to ensure implementation of the coaching process. Her personal style is warm and collegial. She is skilled at identifying a client’s potential. Julie is able to achieve success in the coaching process by engaging the client on a collaborative journey. She integrates a practical business sense with emotional intelligence.

For twenty years prior to starting her own business she held leadership positions at Merrill Lynch, Kraft, Warner Communications, Vinson and Elkins as well as the Director of Law Placement at Stanford Law School.

Julie’s publications include a case commentary in the Harvard Business Review, “When a New Manager Stumbles Who is at Fault?” Julie is the author of the article “Learning Strategies for Newly Appointed Leaders.” She is also co author of The Female Vision: Women’s Real Power at Work. Julie has led seminar discussions at the Harvard Business School, Yale School of Management and numerous industry meetings.

Julie holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and MA in Social Psychology and Counseling from Southern Methodist University and a BA in Liberal Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
