The Savings Institute was incorporated as a financial institution by an act of the Connecticut legislature in 1842 under the name Willimantic Savings Institute. It now operates under the name Savings Institute Bank & Trust Company. The Bank offers a full range of financial services to individuals, businesses and municipalities through its twenty eastern CT offices. The primary product offerings include savings, checking and deposit accounts, certificates of deposit, residential and commercial mortgage loans, commercial business loans and consumer loans. Additionally, wealth management services, which include trust, financial planning, investment services* and life insurance*, are offered to individuals and businesses through its Connecticut offices. SI Financial Group, Inc., publicly traded on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol “SIFI,” is the parent holding company of Savings Institute Bank and Trust Company. Through the years, the directors and employees have worked hard to articulate what distinguishes Savings Institute Bank & Trust from other banks and businesses. While perhaps not perfect, many agree that the guiding principles that follow, values that are at the core of the Bank’s culture, go a long way to defining what sets us apart. And they are: Service: We continuously pursue opportunities to improve and deliver the highest quality of service to each other and to our customers. Integrity: Our pursuit of excellence is guided by a strict adherence to moral and ethical codes that are marked by honesty and a sense of fairness. Boldness: We encourage each other to exercise our ability to actively participate in the delivery of a high degree of service and to contribute to the success of the Bank. Teamwork: We actively collaborate with each other knowing that each of us brings a unique set of skills and experiences that, when combined, enriches our lives and raises our ability to provide the highest level of service possible. Banks across the country have web sites, and most have a section like this entitled, “About Us”. Ultimately, what informs the question asked by such a title most is the organization’s mission. And, perhaps ironically, our mission is ultimately about you… our customer, our community and our shareholders. Our Mission Statement Savings Institute Bank & Trust exists to enrich the lives of individuals and businesses within the communities it serves while sustaining financial stability and optimizing shareholder value.
