The CHEO Foundation is responsible for developing, accepting, distributing, and recognizing philanthropy in support of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre, the CHEO Research Institute and Roger Neilson House. Incorporated in 1974, the CHEO Foundation was established thanks to the hard work of a committee formed in the early 1960’s. Their goal was to convince government and ministries to fund a new pediatric hospital in Ottawa and their determination and commitment paid off in 1974 when CHEO opened its doors.
