Chairman, Global Corporate & Investment Banking

Purna R. Saggurti is Chairman of Global Corporate & Investment Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Saggurti is responsible for leading all Executive Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman and other senior bankers in Global Corporate & Investment Banking to focus on the Chief Executives and the Boards of Directors of our large and global clients. The Global Corporate and Investment Bank was around $11.2 billion in revenues in 2010 and ranked Number 1 in the Americas and Number 2 Globally. Mr. Saggurti is on the board of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council and the Bank of America Environmental Council.
Prior to being named to his current role, Mr. Saggurti served as the co-Head of Global Investment Banking.
Previously, Mr. Saggurti was Head of Americas Origination at Merrill Lynch, which included all Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Origination in the U.S, Canada and Latin America.
In the last twenty-four years, Mr. Saggurti has advised clients around the globe including those in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. He has worked on landmark transactions for a number of clients around the world including Dow, Dupont, Engelhard, GE, Hoechst, Huntsman, Lyondell Basell, Merck, Potash Corp and Reliance.
Mr. Saggurti holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University, a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School in Philadelphia.
Mr. Saggurti is a Member of the Graduate Executive Board of The Wharton School, the Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations and a member of the Board of the US-India Business Council. He also was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Asia Society Joint Task Force on New Priorities in South Asia: U.S. Policy toward India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
