The Mission of the Peery Foundation is to strengthen youth and families to build lives of dignity and self-reliance.  The Foundation invests in social entrepreneurs and leading organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world. We believe in dignity and self-reliance for the beneficiaries of the organizations we support, and also for our grantees. We're experimenting with, practicing, and encouraging others to adopt a grantee-centric approach to grant making.

Children's Health Council (CHC) has been helping children, teens, and families in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties as well as the greater San Francisco Bay Area for more than 60 years. Founded in 1953 by Dr. Esther B. Clark, one of Palo Alto's first female pediatricians, CHC started as a small organization committed to providing families access to multidiscipline, integrated care for disabled children. CHC's focus has evolved over time to serve children and teens with behavioral, emotional, developmental, and learning challenges. At Children's Health Council, we believe in the promise and potential of every child and teen. Our mission is to remove barriers to learning, helping children and teens become resilient, happy, and successful at home, at school, and in life. CHC helps kids with ADHD, Learning Differences (LD), Anxiety & Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorders by promoting Social Emotional Learning, Academics, Executive Functioning, and Physical Development. Our quest is to remove social emotional and learning barriers for kids and families regardless of language, location or ability to pay.We serve 2,000 families each year, and another 2,000 individuals participate in our free parent and professional education workshops. CHC's five major divisions include: The Center for child/teen evaluation and therapy; Sand Hill School for K-7 students with language based learning differences; Esther B. Clark School, a therapeutic day school for kids grades 2-10; The Community Clinic providing behavioral health services to underserved families in Santa Clara County; and Parent and Professional Education, offering free classes and workshops to parents and teachers.
