Temple Beth Am, the House of the People, was founded in 1955, and is located in the Village of Pinecrest in South Miami-Dade County. Open to all, they are a nurturing and caring Reform congregation committed to Jewish continuity, life-long education, spiritual renewal, life-cycle transitions, Shabbat and holy day celebrations. Beth Am offers religious, educational, cultural, social and athletic programs that meet the dynamic needs of their community.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation was founded in 1938 in response to Kristallnacht (considered the start of the Holocaust). Since then, we've seen Miami grow from a resort destination into a unique, culturally diverse community. As our Jewish population has grown, Federation has evolved right along with it. We've helped plan schools, Jewish community centers, agencies and synagogues. We've welcomed Jews from Cuba, Latin America, France, the former Soviet Union and other places. We've stood alongside Israel in ordinary and extraordinary times. And we've raised our voices on behalf of the voiceless – from Refusenik Jews to frail aging Holocaust survivors right here at home. The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is a qualified tax-exempt nonprofit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Federation’s Tax Identification Number is 59-0624404. A 118-member Board of Directors governs Federation. Elected each year at our Annual Meeting, these volunteers include many of our most active supporters, as well as leaders of our Partner Agencies. Board members also serve with other local volunteers on a series of committees that oversee Federation operations, as well as the direction of our various departments and philanthropic programs.
