Simon Bloom aggressively advocates for his clients in a variety of complex litigation matters. Specializing in the real estate industry, he regularly represents developers, builders, property owners and brokers throughout the Southeast in workout and lender liability litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, and all types of real property disputes. Lately, his practice has focused on negotiating and counseling borrowers and guarantors through workouts with and litigation against their lenders. Simon makes it part of his law practice to provide a high level of personal attention to his clients so that he understands their challenges and goals, and contributes to their long-term interests as a trusted business advisor.

In 2007, he left his post as leader of the Real Estate and Construction Litigation Group at Powell Goldstein to found Bloom Sugarman Everett, so that he could provide the same high quality service from a more specialized platform. Growing from two to nine attorneys in just two short years, Bloom’s firm now encompasses a wide range of civil litigation, including employment, restrictive covenant, product liability, class actions and partnership disputes. With a client list that reads like a Who’s Who among Atlanta’s real estate, Bloom Sugarman Everett provides aggressive, strategic advocacy that gets results.

Simon attended the University of Virginia for both college and law school. He has been named a Georgia Super Lawyers’ Rising Star for four consecutive years, Georgia Trend Legal Elite, was chosen as an “Up and Comer: Top 40 Under 40? by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and in 2009 as one of 12 lawyers “On the Rise” by the Fulton County Daily Report.

He frequently writes and teaches about trying cases and real estate litigation at seminars and CLEs throughout the Southeast, and is an adjunct professor at Emory University, where he helps teach the pre-litigation clinic.

It was conceived and designed by U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, and established in 1819. UVA's initial Board of Visitors included former Presidents of the United States Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. Monroe owned the initial site of the University, which was mostly farmland. His law office and farmhouse are now the site of Brown College at Monroe Hill, a residential college at UVA. UVA is one of the eight original Public Ivy universities, and it is the only university campus in the United States that is designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the 2013 edition of U.S. News and World Report's National University Rankings, the school was listed as America's 2nd best public university; tied with UCLA and surpassed only by UC Berkeley.
