Park Avenue Equity Partners (PAEP) focuses on investments in profitable, North American middle-market companies that are seeking full or partial liquidity for their owners or capital to fund growth strategies. The firm invests in platform portfolio companies that are headquartered in North America and have EBITDA greater than $10 million. They tend to invest in the construction, solid waste, transportation, recycling, healthcare and financial services industries, although they are highly opportunistic in their investments and are not restricted by sector. PAEP targets companies with management teams that have in-depth knowledge of their businesses and the ability to execute viable growth strategies. In addition, companies should have stable-to-increasing market positions relative to their competition and demonstrable strategic or competitive advantages. The effective value of the acquisition or investment must be attractive relative to historic earnings, cash flow and future potential.PAEP typically serves as the lead investor, but in certain situations, they may co-invest with other private equity sponsors in larger transactions. The firm generally pursues growth strategies through a combination of internal means and acquisitions. Companies should maintain profitability while implementing cost rationalizations where appropriate. PAEP employs the use of conservative capital structures, avoiding excessive leverage. Investments typically range up to $50 million. PAEP's investment horizon is 5 to 7 years.
